MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) – The Tennessee Department of Transportation's website is reporting that Interstate 240 in Memphis near Poplar Avenue is closed after a vehicle cargo fire.

This is on the westbound side of I-240 at mile marker 13 between the Walnut Grove Road and Poplar Avenue exits.  At this time, the entire westbound side of I-240 is closed, and traffic is being re-routed.

That accident was reported at 5:20pm.

A second accident has also occurred just south of the first accident on the eastbound side of I-240 near mile marker 15.  Right-hand lanes of the eastbound side are blocked, and motorists should expect minor delays.
