MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) - As we approach the second anniversary of her son's death, Deborah Marion says she will continue the search for the person responsible for his murder.

Memphis basketball star Lorenzen Wright went missing July 18, 2010.  His body was found four days later in a wooded area of Germantown, partially decomposed due to the sweltering heat.

"I'm going to have something for him every year," said Marion. "I'm not going to just let my son fall by the waste side.  If I don't do something, it's like he's stranded or stuck.  I'm going to keep fighting and continue to fight."

At a candlelight vigil Saturday, Memphis Mayor A.C. Wharton vowed to keep the investigation open.

"The Lorenzen Wright case will never be a cold case or a closed cased as long as I am mayor of Memphis, Tennessee," Wharton said.

Homicide investigators have yet to release suspect information but family friends like Barbara Deloach say they feel police have been vigilant.

"When you're working on something of this magnitude you can't share everything," said Deloach. "But I do trust that the officials are doing what they can."

Wright's mother has even considered supernatural intervention.

"I tried to get in touch with them psychics, and honey they are expensive," said Wright.

Marion believes Wright would be proud of her perseverance.

"You're doing what your suppose to do, you go girl, that's what he would say," Marion said.

In an effort to find closure, she said she hopes someone will come forward.

"Please, just help us find out who murdered my child. He was just 34-years-old. Trade places with me or have a conscious, " pleaded Marion.

The family asked for the public's prayers and thanked the many supporters who have assisted in their journey for justice.

Wright left behind 6 children.
