MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) - After a 10-day blackout, millions of TV Viewers now have their missing channels back.

After a financial dispute between Viacom and DirecTV that caused viewers to miss their favorite shows like "Sponge Bob Square Pants" and "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart," the companies have reached an agreement.

Viacom and DirecTV have kissed and made up and that means if you subscribe to those services, some of your favorite programs are back on the tube again.

A war of words broke out in the media after Viacom pulled its more than a dozen channels from the satellite network.

"They demand that you pay 30 percent more," Mike White, DirecTv's CEO, said in a commercial. "That's an extra billion dollars for the same channels you already receive."

For more than a week, about 20 million DirecTV customers weren't able to watch Nickelodeon, MTV, Comedy Central, BET and the other channels owned by Viacom...

The dispute became a TV battle of epic proportions when Viacom executives fired off the following written statement:

"DirecTV told the press that Viacom ignored attempts to reach a deal. This is not true. The last time we spoke with DirecTV was at 11 a.m. Tuesday morning and there were no new ideas offered for resolution. In fact, the last proposal DirecTV had made was lower than anyone else pays in the industry and a deal we said we would not do out of fairness to other distributors."

But fast forward to Friday and both sides had reached an agreement, giving millions of TV viewers another chance to see their favorite programs.

And giving both companies a chance to make more money.

Even though the two sides have reached a deal, there are still questions about just how they reached that agreement.

So far, executives at Viacom and DirecTV have not released the terms of their new agreement
