YOUR TURN: Weekend sales tax holiday

Posted: Updated:

(WMC-TV) - This week's "Your Turn" segment comes from the Action News 5 Facebook page where people are all talking about this weekend's sales tax holiday in Mississippi.

Tennessee also has a sales tax holiday August 3-5. Several Mississippians were unhappy that their state's sales tax holiday was not more generous. We chose this comment from Jason Poe.

In his words:

"Hardly any school supplies are covered under the sales tax exemption and that stinks, considering the kindergarten list is like $110 all together. When I went to kindergarten, all I had to have was four folders with brads, pencils, crayons, a pencil box, scissors, large ruled tablet, glue, and a manila envelope. Now . . . Good lord."

That's Jason Poe's turn. Now it's your turn. To comment on this segment or anything else, email yourturn@wmctv.com or call 800-465-1210.
