LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The Arkansas Parole Board has rejected a parole request from a man convicted in the shooting deaths of two people on the University of Central Arkansas campus in 2008.
Board chairman John Felts says the board declined to grant parole to Kawin Brockman, who pleaded guilty to committing a terroristic act.
Authorities say Brockman was riding in a vehicle with two others on Oct. 26, 2008, when Kelcey Perry fired shots that killed two people on the UCA campus. Perry pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and was sentenced to 40 years in prison.
The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports (http://is.gd/Mvrwc6 ) the board voted that Brockman needed to complete a vocational program in prison before he's granted parole. Officials say that program takes up to a year to finish.
