The deputy's injuries aren't believed to be life threatening, according to Randy Stewart, chief deputy of the Tunica County Sheriff's Office.

Stewart said the deputy, who works with the department's tactical unit, accidentally shot himself in the leg in the Tallahatchie County Courthouse parking lot.

James Willie was appearing in court so a judge could decide whether his bond from an arrest in Tallahatchie County should be revoked..
