BINGHAMPTON, EAST MEMPHIS -

(WMC-TV) – When the Memphis City council meets today, they are going to tackle some divisive issues.

One of them - the annexation of part of South Cordova.

People in that area have filed suit against the city to fight what they say is unfair tax collection.

Today, the budget committee is going to talk about adding funding for services in the newly-annexed area.

The full council will also vote on the final reading of a proposal to put a 1 cent per gallon gas tax hike on the November ballot.
