YOUR TURN: Football team hazing

Posted: Updated:

This week's "Your Turn" segment comes from the Action News 5 Facebook page where people are writing about the hazing incident involving the football team at White Station High School. The incident forced White Station to forfeit its first game of the season. Some people pointed out that hazing is commonplace, but others were more concerned about the issue. We chose a comment from Autumn Smith. In her words:

"It saddens and sickens me to see things such as this. It is bad that we now live in a day in time where not only students, but faculty members also have to be disciplined for such actions. Granted, bullying has always been an issue, but it used to be nothing more than a name calling. Now, it has been taken to a much higher, more dangerous level. I pray that something changes in the schools not only here but everywhere to minimize or eliminate this problem!"

That's Autumn Smith's turn. Now it's your turn. To comment on this segment or anything else, email yourturn@wmctv.com or call 800-465-1210.
