MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) – A toddler was killed Saturday night after being hit by a car in North Memphis.

Memphis police were called to the 3300 block of Warford Street just after 7 p.m. Saturday.

Upon arrival, they found a 2-year-old child that had been struck by a vehicle.  Police say the driver of that automobile remained on the scene, and the baby was taken to Le Bonheur in extremely critical condition, and was unresponsive.

Our crews received word around 9 p.m. that the 2-year-old had been pronounced dead.

Police have not released any further information, and their investigation into the incident is ongoing.
