MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) – Police are looking for a runaway teen from Memphis, considered to be in danger.

7th grade Wooddale Middle student, Anya Williams is listed as an endangered runaway after her parents reported her missing a week ago.

Naradia Watley says she last saw her daughter Sunday night, September 9th around 10:30.

"She is just a 13-year-old baby" said Watley.

The family said they went to bed Sunday and Monday morning awoke to a note.

"It basically said that we didn't love her and she was leaving and don't look for her", said Watley.

Anya was last seen in 6000 block of Apple Tree Drive in Southeast Memphis.

Watley explained that she had recently punished Anya for misbehaving and took away her cell phone and Facebook privileges.

"She had reactivated her Facebook page and was sneaking on and messaging a few people" said Watley.

Taking to the streets in search for answers, Anya's parents learned that she had been asking strangers for a ride.

"She was telling them a false name and of course a false age", said Watley "and that she was trying to get to the South Memphis, Orangemound area".

With the recent rise in sex trafficking crimes involving underage girls, Anya's parent worry the inexperienced 13-year-old could be in trouble.

"Niya has always been the type of child that very naive or easily led and she's very friendly and she doesn't know strangers", said Watley.

Posting flyers and spreading the word on social media Saturday her parents said they could only hold out hope for Anya's immediate return.

"Just praying a prayer of protection around her and really just knowing and having faith and believing that where ever she is that she's safe", said Watley.

Anya was last seen wearing a black and gold dress with black sandals. She is described as 5 foot 7 inches, weighing approximately 203 pounds.

If you know any information about the whereabouts of Anya Williams, you're urged to call the Missing Persons Bureau at (901) 636-4446.
