MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) – A Mid-South school district has been hit hard by a $2 million budget cut. There has been a decline in student population in Blytheville schools. As a result, the schools are receiving less federal funding.

However, administrators are being optimistic. They say students will not notice a difference in their routines due to the funding loss, and they are continuing to roll out more educational tools.

"Even as we have budget cuts we're still looking at a one-to-one technology for our high school students starting next year," said Sally Cooke, Director of Curriculum, Blytheville Public Schools. "We have multiple technology applications as far as even going to down our kindergarten using iPads in our kindergarten."

Also, Cooke says the administration does not anticipate having to let any staff go.
