MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) – According to MLGW's Outage Map, the Midtown area near Overton Park has the most residents without power.  Friday night close to 4,000 residents were in the dark.

Memphis Light Gas and Water and the Memphis Fire Department were on the scene of several downed power lines and a gas line rupture in South Memphis Friday night.

Saturday afternoon, close to 3000 homes were still in the dark.

Crews worked to clear fallen trees and get power lines back up in Midtown.  We spoke to Memphis residents trying to stay warm and preserve refrigerated food during the outage.

"The house is still fairly warm and I have radiators so I can always override the boiler and get heat so that's lucky for me," said Midtown resident Amanda Perry.  "Otherwise me and the dogs will just snuggle up," she added.

Thankfully there have been no injuries or reports of property damaged, save for a few power lines and poles.

MLGW administrators say their customer care center is still open for outage calls. That number is (901) 544-6549.
