Andy's Restaurant Scorecard: New Earlean's Divine Cuisine, plus scores

WEST MEMPHIS, AR -

(WMC TV) - THIS WEEK'S BIG TIP:  New Earlean's Divine Cuisine, 109 S. Worthington Dr., West Memphis, AR, (870) 400-4033, Facebook

It's about time.

It's about time West Memphis's restaurant scene was known for more than just fledgling barbecue joints, fast food yawns and the occasional pizza parlor on the Crittenden County health department's 'eater beware' list (the late Pizza Inn, anyone?).

West Memphis will now be known -- for New Earlean's.

Not New "Orleans," mind you. This isn't Cajun Creole. This is the Southern home-style cuisine of Earlean Boston.

"For about 10 years now, my husband and I wanted to open a restaurant," said Boston. "These are dishes I've cooked out of my own kitchen.

"I'm new to the business, so it's 'New' Earlean's!"

New Earlean's Divine Cuisine is Southern home-style with a smile. It's where servers like Miss Flo know how to show the love.

It's where meat-and-three's go to Heaven in customers' stomachs.

"I love the fried chicken, the meat loaf, the sweet potato casserole," said customer Scott Thompson.

"From the tastes to the quality to the service, everything home-style cooking," said customer Tamika Burnett. "I think they have it."

We think West Memphis has it now: a locally-owned restaurant the locals can crowd at lunch and dinner, then come back tomorrow.

"This, I believe, is going to be a landmark here in West Memphis for a long time to come," said customer Ronald Burnett. "Because as long as you continue the consistency of the quality of the food, that's always key."

"It's worth coming back for. Every single time," said Thompson.

It's about time, West Memphis.

WHAT ANDY LIKES: Fried Chicken, Meat Loaf, Sweet Potato Casserole (the star of the menu!), Baked Potato Casserole, Greens, Mississippi Mud Pie, Superior Service (NOTE: New Earlean's will soon move to the former Bonanza building on Shoppingway Blvd. in West Memphis, AR)
