DCS computer problems could soon be fixed

MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) - The state Department of Children's Services (DCS) could soon see some positive changes. After facing scrutiny for weeks, Tennessee leaders are hoping millions of dollars will help solve thousands of technical issues found with DCS.

The DCS computer system has been blamed for a variety of problems. Those problems include skipped payments to foster parents and the inability to find a particular child's history when a brand new report of abuse or neglect is received.

But all of that might change soon. The state will shell out $3.96 million to fix the 2-year-old defective computer system.
