
CORINTH, Miss. (AP) - A Corinth woman faces charges after allegedly assaulting a woman with a hammer.
The Daily Corinthian reports (http://bit.ly/R8t6Xa ) the Corinth Police Department booked Jeanette Ieshia Coker, 39, on Oct. 5 with aggravated assault.
The victim, Jessica Lowery, 29, was flown to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo for treatment.
Police Chief David Lancaster said officers found Lowery lying in a driveway surrounded by blood from an apparent head wound.
Lancaster said bystanders told investigators Lowery had been struck in the head with a hammer.
Coker was taken into custody a short time later.
Lancaster did not know the nature of the dispute between the women.
