TUNICA, MS -
(WMC-TV) - The Tunica Balloon Bash, caught on camera, as dozens of hot air balloons glowed in the sky at the Hollywood Casino.
Around 40 pilots were getting ready Friday evening for the balloon races in the morning.
They will be 1500 feet up in the air as they try to drop bean bags on targets down on the ground while spectators can watch it all.
It's a first time event in Tunica for pilots like Kinnie Gibson.
"We're excited to see what the flying area is like the ms river is going to create some neat challenges. The top 5 or 6 guys will be within 2 feet from 3 miles away," said Gibson.
All of these folks are here to bring a new tourist attraction to the casino areas, and people can even take a ride later tonight and tomorrow.
Don't worry you don't have to be 1000 feet up, the rides will be tethered so you'll only go up about 40 or 50 feet, but will still be able to get a glimpse of what it's like in one of these things.

Saturday, November 10 7:00 – 9:00 a.m. – Balloon Race/Competition 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. – Balloon Fun Flight – weather permitting (Throughout the resort area, spectators can watch or "chase" the flying balloons from the ground.) 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. – Balloon Glow (Participating properties TBD) 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. – Tethered Balloon Rides at Fitz and Hollywood
