(WMC-TV) - Thousands of Mid-South suburbanites are finding their neighborhoods taken over – without a vote, without a warning… annexed, with no say in the matter.

Thriving neighborhoods are now facing a whole new set of rules. And the price some people may end up paying is a lot more than an increase in property taxes.

The Action News 5 investigators are going undercover to expose an explosion of gang activity in the suburbs all across the Mid-South.

"When they do that drive by shooting and they miss their intended target, then that's when the innocent become victims," said Captain Shannon Beasley, Tipton County Sheriff's Department.

A high ranking gang member is breaking his code of silence and says they are moving into the suburbs.

"This is a new generation, they ain't going nowhere," he said.

This gang leader is revealing what is happening in the suburbs and you will hear from him tonight on Action News 5 at 10 p.m.
