Multiple Breaking Stories: Shots fired at officers & officer involved crash

MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) – Multiple breaking stories from the Action News 5 newsroom…

First, we have reports of shots being fired at Memphis Police officers.  The incident occurred in the area of Jackson and Townes Avenues, near the Memphis National Cemetery.

A perimeter has been set up in that area, and police are aggressively looking for the suspect.  There are no details on the suspect at this time.

ALSO, investigators are working the scene of an crash involving a Memphis Police officer.  This is near East High School, at Walnut Grove and Holmes Street.  This is reported to be a two car crash.

A 78-year-old female was transported to Methodist Central, in non-critical condition.  N other injuries have been reported at this time.
