(WMC-TV) - Quazi Nafis, a 21-year-old foreign exchange student, is now indicted for allegedly trying to blow up the Federal Reserve Bank.

This comes one month after authorities arrested Nafis in a sting operation.

He once attended Southeast Missouri State University in the Missouri Bootheel.

He allegedly tried to detonate what he thought was a 1,000 pound bomb by using his cell phone as a trigger. However, the bomb was a fake.

Nafis is charged with using a weapon of mass destruction, and trying to provide material support to Al Qaeda.
