(WMC-TV) – A 55-year-old man is charged with sexual assault of a child after investigators say a family member may have walked in on the crime.
Investigators with the Marshall County Sheriff's Office were called about a sexual assault near Byhalia, Mississippi.
The 6-year-old victim was taken to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital and the Shelby County Rape Crisis Center.
Charles Davis was arrested and is charged with the assault. His bond was set at $100,000 on Tuesday morning.
Major Kelly McMillen, an investigator with the Marshall County Sheriff's Office, says a search of Charles Davis' record shows prior incidents similar to this one.
The little girl is expected to be okay and it does not appear that she was the victim of any previous attacks.
