MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) - The family of a Mid-South woman who died in a car crash says something sinister drove her to her death. And now they have audio tapes they believe back up their claims.

It is a bizarre story, with even more bizarre new developments.

Could a Mid-South church could be tied to her death?

"Only reason some of you aren't dead yet, cause I ain't told God to kill you," said the church pastor in one of the audio tapes.

"She was brainwashed. And whatever she was told to do, almost like a Jim Jones kind of thing, she'd do it," said the victim's mother, Lois Gilliam.

Hear what is on those tapes and find out why family members believe it proves their loved one did not die of her own will, coming up Tuesday night on Action News 5 at 10 p.m.
