MY TURN: Thank you for helping

Posted: Updated:
MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) - Mid-South residents struck a real blow against hunger in our community this week.

You responded in a big way to the call to participate in our sixth annual Action News 5 Holiday Food Drive.

The crowds Wednesday included pre-schoolers and senior citizens and everyone in between.

It was great for the Action News 5 team to be able to meet so many of you under such wonderful circumstances. We really want to thank each and every one of you. We also want to thank all of our partners for the food drive, including Kroger, Wal-Mart, Hertz Equipment Rental, Safety-Quip and all of the other companies who helped us produce this event.

As you know, the Mid-South Food Bank serves 225 agencies with more than 300 charitable feeding programs in our region. On behalf of all of those organizations and all of us here at WMC-TV 5, we really appreciate everyone who made the effort yesterday to share in the Christmas spirit.

That's my turn. Now it's your turn. To comment on this segment or anything else, email yourturn@wmctv.com or call 800-465-1210.
