MEMPHIS, TN -
(WMC-TV) - A judge has declared a mistrial in the case of a Memphis woman on trial for the murder of her husband.

The Commercial Appeal reported that a jury could not reach a verdict in the murder trial of 53-year-old Patricia Matting.

Fredrick Matting's body was found beaten, stabbed and shot on a street near his Cordova home back in 2010.

Matting's brother is also charged with the crime.

Earlier this week James Smith testified it was Patricia Matting's idea for him to kill her husband.

Smith said she wanted out of her 30-year marriage to Fredrick Matting.

Smith remains in jail while his case is pending. He is charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy.
