MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) - Memphis police officers continue to guard the house where one of their own was shot and killed Friday.

Police tell say the home on Mendenhall Cove is still a crime scene, and officers are making sure that crime scene is preserved.

At this point, Action News 5 has been told that the people who live in the home have not been back.

"You know, it's heartbreaking for the loss of a mother with four children," Nikki Perez said about Officer Martoiya Lang, who was killed while serving a drug-related warrant Friday. Perez lives down the block from the crime scene. "This world is just going insane. Shootings, killings everywhere."

Police say they found 13 bags of marijuana, totaling 25 grams, in the house after Officer Lang lost her life.

Treveno Campbell, 21, was charged with first degree murder over the weekend. He has no criminal history in Shelby County. Police say after he shot at Officer Lang and Officer Vrooman, they returned fire, striking him. Campbell remains in critical condition at The MED.

Willie Braddock appeared in court Monday on drug-related charges after he was arrested hiding inside the home Friday. This is Braddock's third arrest since June 27.
