(WMC-TV) – An affidavit has been released in regards to the shooting Friday that killed MPD officer Martoiya Lang.

According to the affidavit, when the Organized Crime Unit officers were serving a warrant at the home on Mendenhall Cove, one of the suspects tried to run.  As he was being placed under arrest, the second suspect, identified as Treveno Campbell, fired shots at the officers from a bedroom.

That is when Officer Lang and Officer Vrooman were both hit.  Police returned fire hitting Campbell.

Campbell was taken to The MED in critical condition.  He has recently been upgraded to stable condition.

Officer Vrooman was shot in the leg.  He was treated and released the same day.

Campbell is charged with first degree murder and criminal attempt felony to wit first degree murder.

The suspect who was being arrested when the shots were fired appeared in court Monday.  Willie Braddock is charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to manufacture, deliver, and sell.
