(WMC-TV) – All six senators from Mississippi, Tennessee, and Arkansas supported the senate's measure to avoid the fiscal cliff.
This includes: Republicans Roger Wicker and Thad Cochran of Mississippi, Republicans Lamar Alexander and Bob Corker of Tennessee, and Republican John Boozman and Democrat Mark Pryor of Arkansas.
It passed with 89 votes but Tennessee Senator Bob Corker voiced his unhappiness with the process.
"It is unfortunate that he doesn't spend as much time working on solving problems as he does with campaigns and pep rallies," said Corker. "But I just want to say I am very disappointed in what the president had to say,"
Corker says the President should have been a part of the process from the beginning instead of at the last minute. He said he was disappointed with what he called a pep rally the president had as negotiations were at a critical stage.
Corker insists he voted for the bill based upon substance but objects to the President's actions.
"I think most of the Senate is very distressed that we're in a situation where a negotiation is taking place all of this time and it's not being done through regular order but that's the way things are today in the Senate," said Corker.
And that is the way things are on Capitol Hill. Both sides blame each other for a last second deal as partisan bickering is expected to continue in 2013.
