TN lawmakers gear up for gun debate

MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) – Students in Newton, Connecticut returned to class for the first time since the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

As the small town tries to get things back to normal, gun laws remain a hot debate across the nation.

In Tennessee, lawmakers are gearing up for a battle about the possible expansion of where people with permits can carry their weapons.

Jackson Baker with our news partners at the Memphis Flyer wrote an article Thursday about the divide among republicans in the state on that issue.
