BRIGHTON, TN -

(WMC-TV) – A mother and daughter were killed Friday in a car accident on Highway 51.

Shelly Harvey, 47, was driving in the left lane southbound on Highway 51 when her vehicle was clipped by another car driving the same direction in the right lane.

Harvey's vehicle swerved off to the right, hit a power pole, and rolled. She was killed as a result of the crash.

Her mother, Peggy Harvey, 70, was a passenger in the car. She also died in the accident.

The driver of the other vehicle involved, Sherry Claffey, 62, of Atoka, was injured.

Both Shelly and Peggy Harvey are from Munford, TN. Both women were wearing seatbelts and investigators do not believe speed was a factor in the accident.
