LAUDERDALE COUNTY, TN -

(WMC-TV) – Friends and relatives still cannot believe what happened.  They say a brother stabbed his sister to death, and then died hours later after disposing of her body.

Friends and family of 55-year-old Lynn Conrad and his sister Pam Ashmore are trying to come to terms with the awful truth.

"It's hard really hard," said friend Tutor Moffatt.  "Me and my wife has sat and cried all day long.  Pam was a real good person and Little Lynn," he added.

Investigators say Conrad stabbed his sister to death in a Lauderdale County mobile home they shared.

"It's just friends I've known them all my life," stated friend Jeffrey Jenkins.

Friends said Conrad tried to hide his sister's body in an area several miles from their home.

Friends say Conrad put his sister's body in his truck then drove it out to a rural area, Jack Rabbit Road, and dumped it in the bottoms.

Then his truck got stuck in the mud.  He walked a few miles to the home of a relative and knocked on the door around 8:30 Wednesday morning.

"When I came to the door he called my name," relative Robert Jones said.  "I said what's wrong. He said I think I'm having a stroke," Jones added.

Jones and his wife Carolyn called 911.  Lynn Conrad died at the hospital, but not before he told Robert Jones his truck was stuck in the mud.  Jones found it and called the Sheriff's department.

At this point, no one knew anything about the murder of Conrad's sister.  Her body was discovered later in the day.

It is not clear why the stabbing happened.

Relatives say Conrad's sister was getting a divorce and recently moved in with him.  Conrad has a lengthy arrest record including a murder conviction from the 1970's for which he served time.

"It's tearing us apart it really is," Mrs. Jones added.

The Lauderdale County Sheriff says the case is under investigation.  Sheriff Steve Sanders said it is not clear what the motive was for the stabbing.
