MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) – People around the world honored Dr. King Monday. A highlight here in Memphis Monday morning was the annual Martin Luther King Junior National Holiday Parade.

For participants in this parade, this is an opportunity to celebrate the dreamer and his dream.

An army of corvettes became a fan favorite of the parade. Driver Nichole Houston says this opportunity to honor Dr. King was just too good to pass up.

And for these drivers the causes they are supporting include freedom, non violence and the racial equality that Dr. King fought for.

Many of the people who saw the parade say they have been inspired by Dr. King too.

Jeff Till and his family came to Memphis to watch the Grizzlies take on Indiana.

The Tills were sightseeing down second street when the parade passed by.

The sight of all these people coming together to honor Dr. King impressed members of the Poplar Bluff Missouri family.

"Yeah we have kids to be aware of what's going on with diversity in the country and yeah its important to us," said Till.
