Grizzlies Fall, Lose Conley

Posted: Updated:

Grizzlies guard Mike Conley left the game early in the first quarter after rolling his ankle, and the Grizzlies collapsed in the fourth quarter, falling to the New Orleans Hornets, 91-83 Sunday.

The loss snaps the Grizzlies two game winning streak.

Conley's injury happened when he was bringing the ball down the court and made a sudden stop.  He initially stayed in the game, but was shut down shortly thereafter.  He was put in a walking boot after the game.  No word on his status going forward.

Ryan Anderson scored 22 points, connecting on seven 3-pointers for New Orleans.

Fellow Hornets reserve Jason Smith had 16 points, while Anthony Davis was the only New Orleans starter to finish in double figures with 10 points.

Zach Randolph led Memphis with 20 points and 13 rebounds, and Marc Gasol chipped in a double-double of his own with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

New Orleans put the game away by outscoring Memphis 27-15 in the fourth quarter.

Memphis travels to Philadelphia to take on the Sixers Monday.  Tip-off set for 6pm CST.
