ARKANSAS RIVER -

(WMC-TV) - Three men working for a Mid-South tugboat company rescued a dog stranded on the Arkansas River in Oklahoma. The entire rescue was caught on camera.

The video was posted to Facebook by the brother of one of the rescuers, who is from Batesville, Mississippi.

In the video, the tug boat approaches the dog that appears to be stuck in the river surrounded by some sort of vegetation or plant life. As soon as the workers got close, the dog tried to make his way to the row boat.

Sam Horton was one of the rescuers. Sam's brother spoke with Action News 5 about the rescue. He said they could not bring themselves to keep going without helping the dog, who had no hope of getting out on its own.

The rescuers work for the Jan Tran Tug Company out of Rosedale, Mississippi.

The dog was rescued in Oklahoma, but was sent to Mississippi on another tug boat. Sam Horton is now currently making sure the dog is OK after being stuck in the chilly waters.
