(WMC-TV) - A state of emergency is being declared in Tennessee as a result of the severe storms that passed through the region late Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning.
Officials are currently assessing the wide-spread damage caused by straight-line winds.
The state is also responding to requests from local governments for emergency resources like tarps and debris clearance.
