Design plans complete for south of Broadway

Posted: Updated:
NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

The design future of downtown Nashville is becoming a little more clear after six months of public meetings.

A strategic plan for the area south of Broadway is now complete, and the plan released online Thursday includes several dozen recommendations such as flood mitigation measures, a plan to commission a downtown traffic and parking study and an extension of the Avenue of the Arts.

There is also a plan to connect the SoBro neighborhood and the Gulch with a new pedestrian bridge.

The aim is to make the area around the new Music City Center easily accessible for visitors and residents.
