Eric Berry has an office nearby, and he was concerned to hear a shooting happened in a building he thought was vacant.
"If that's happening that time of night there, and there's a lot of shooting going on, people getting hurt, what type of people are visiting that spot there?" he said.
Berry wasn't the only one surprised to hear about the shooting.
"I didn't know it was open over there," said resident Eroenda Mayes.
Mayes lives in the area and wasn't happy to hear of the violence.
"I didn't even know that there was even a club open at all. So it is kind of alarming to know that five people were shot, and a female done something like that so close to home," said Mayes.
Berry hopes the city addresses the property to reinforce what he said is a great place for business.
Police are still looking for the suspect and have no description at this time.
