JACKSON, TN -

(WMC-TV) - It has been five years since tornadoes swept through the Mid-South leaving behind a path of devastation. A memorial service will be held Tuesday evening at the exact time the tornadoes hit, in order to remember the damage it caused and the lives that were lost.

One tornado forced the Hickory Ridge Mall in Memphis to close. Two men and a woman died when part of the DSC Logistics warehouse collapsed just south of the mall.

The damage continued in Jackson, Tennessee where almost every building at Union University was damaged. More than 50 students were injured.

The images from those tornadoes still leave an impression exactly five years later.

Tuesday at 7:03 p.m., Union University will host a memorial service at G.M. Memorial Chapel to remember the storms and the lives lost.

Prayers and testimonies will be shared from people who lived through the destruction.

The service is open for anyone who wants to attend.
