MEMPHIS, TN -
(WMC-TV) - Many people hear about a robbery happening on the street or in a dark alley, but it is rare to hear about it happening at church.
Neighbors do not believe the accusations against Georgia Todd, her daughter Kimmera Jones, and a third accomplice Shutesha Williams — all of whom have bonded out of jail.
Police said the trio pulled off a robbery inside Raleigh Assembly of God church back on Sunday, December 16.
According to an affidavit of complaint, the three women threw another woman down a flight of stairs.
Police said the victim was still on the ground being attacked when Williams reached into her pocket and stole her cell phone.
The church said the incident did not happen during Sunday service.
But rather while people were waiting in line after church at its Christmas Mannah outreach, in which it fed nearly 4,000 people.
The two different listed addresses for Williams turned up nothing.
Sources said Jones was evicted from her apartment within the past few weeks.
But neighbors vouch for her mother, and refuse to notion she robbed anyone — especially in a house of worship.
"She a hard working person. She just real nice. You know if you go to her for help, she'll help you," said neighbor Calvin Dickson.
All three women are due back in court on different dates between Feb. 7 and April 2.
