(WMC-TV) – Sherwood Elementary was on lock-down Thursday morning after a man was stabbed, and shots were fired. This happened just outside the school. And now, a man is behind bars.

Terrence Tillman has been charged with aggravated assault, carry weapon w/I on school property, and more. He is set to face a judge Friday.

According to police, Thursdays's altercation was between Tillman and a woman named Yajaira Maldonado.

Maldonado was attempting to drop her children off at school when things went wrong.

According to police, she was approached by Tillman, the father of her children. They say he told her he was going to take the children with him.

They got into an argument, and Tillman pushed Maldonado to the ground – injuring her knee. Police say Maldonado then stabbed Tillman in the arm so he could not take the kids.

Tillman then went to his vehicle and got a gun. He proceeded to shoot at Maldonado in front of their 5-year-old and 2-year-old daughters. Police say about 20 other children and parents witnessed the shooting.

And one man's car was full of bullet holes. Luckily, no one was shot.
