TATE COUNTY, MS -

(WMC-TV) - A former executive director for the Chickasaw Council of the Boy Scouts was indicted on multiple counts of sexual abuse and child pornography, according to the Tate County Sheriff's Office.

William Brewer is charged with five counts of fondling, eight counts of sexual battery, and 10 counts of child pornography.

Brewer was arrested in July 2012.

His home was searched by Tate County investigators after they received a tip. The evidence they found was enough to arrest him, according to Tate County Sheriff Lance Brad.

Brewer lost his job after the search.

"Items we seized, of course, the one count we had on him was actually a photograph, but we seized all items that could potentially be used to download, disseminate, or make child pornography," said Lance.

Brewer's job as northwest Mississippi executive director of the Chickasaw Council of the Boy Scouts involved raising money, organizing programs, and working with young boy scouts.

Some neighbors say they never suspected anything unusual going on at Brewer's home, even though they saw kids there on a regular basis.

Investigators say there is no indication that either of Brewer's two young victims came into contact with him through the Boy Scouts; however, they did issue a warning to all parents.
