MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) - Agricenter International is taking unprecedented steps after three crimes in two weeks.

"We're probably going to have to go with gates that shut off at night and we're getting ready to have security," said President John Charles Wilson. "It's just been a rough time for us lately."

The latest crime happened Wednesday night when thieves made it through a fence without tripping an alarm.

"We've got security and alarms on our facilities in different areas but these people knew how to get around it and they did," said Wilson.

The crooks got away with two $10,000 4-wheelers.

""It's a big loss," said Wilson.

It comes just a week after Action News 5 was first to report vandalism at the bamboo farm where food is grown for the Memphis Zoo's two pandas. Teens ran over the irrigation system and left evidence of a party all over the place. Somebody returned this past weekend and did additional damage.

"Things like this create such bad situations," said Wilson. "It makes us have to shut down areas," he added.

Investigators collected footprints in the area where the ATVs were swiped and witnesses took photos of vehicles involved in the latest vandalism.

"And when we catch them we're going to prosecute to the fullest extent of the law," said Wilson.

Anyone with additional information about any of the three recent crimes should call Crime-Stoppers at 901-528-CASH.
