MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) - It has been almost a week since police found the body of Jimmy McClain inside his Cordova home where he had been murdered.

It was a quiet scene off Cordova Club Drive Thursday which was quite the contrast from last Friday when McClain was found dead. He had not been seen since Wednesday, February 20.

Shelby County Sheriff's Spokesperson Chip Washington said McClain knew a lot of people. Now, authorities are using Facebook to help connect with his friends and family, many whose lives he touched.

"By all indications Mr. McClain was a very well thought of individual," said Washington.

Washington said with permission from McClain's family, investigators are using his Facebook profile to talk with friends and try to piece together anything leading up to his final days.

"It's a good place for people to express their thoughts and their feelings. And we thought it'd be good to look inside Mr. Mclain's past," said Washington.

According to court documents, on February 4 McClain filed for a divorce, but he had been separated from his wife for several years.

The report shows that neither asked for alimony.

Court documents also showed that McClain filed for the divorce and agreed to pay all legal fees.

Authorities do not believe there is any threat to neighbors, they believe this is an isolated incident.

If you have any information that could be lead to an arrest you're asked to call Crimestoppers at 528-CASH.
