NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Metro police have arrested a convicted drug felon accused of distributing heroin over the last few months in the Madison area.

Anthony Bryant, 27, is suspected of meeting buyers in the parking lots of restaurants, department stores and home improvement stores to complete the alleged heroin sales.

When undercover officers approached to arrest Bryant on Tuesday, police said he rammed his Dodge Charger into their police car.

Then, during a search, officers allegedly found 25 small, foil-wrapped pieces of heroin within a plastic bag concealed in Bryant's rectum.

When searching Bryant's motel room, police also found more than a pound of heroin, dozens of counterfeit $100 bills and more than $1,100 in cash.

Bryant is charged with felony possession of heroin, aggravated assault on a police officer, resisting arrest and probation violation charges. A hearing is set for March 11.

Police said Bryant was convicted of a felony cocaine charge in 2007 and received an eight-year sentence, but he was allowed to serve the time on probation.

Last year, Bryant was arrested on marijuana, cocaine and gun charges.
