Despite a slump in prices for copper worldwide, Southern Copper still managed to post good numbers for its 2012 Q4 and fiscal 2012 year, thanks to increase in sales volumes for copper (7.1%), silver(14.6%) and zinc (3%). The company also set a copper production record of 200, 070 tons from its Buenavista mine, as well as a record molybdenum production from the La Caridad mine of 10, 968 tons. Silver and zinc production also posted year-over-year increases of 7.2% and 7.3% respectively. Kinross strikes up solid figures as the company exceeds full-year production forecast and meets full-year cost of sales forecast as well. Production reached 2,617,813 Au eq. oz., exceeding guidance, compared with 2,543,790 Au eq. oz. for full-year 2011 while full-year revenue reached $4,311.4 million, compared with $3,842.5 million for 2011.
