Awards given in conjunction with the 6th Annual Stater Bros. Charities Dave Stockton Heroes Challenge
SAN BERNARDINO, Calif., March 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --Stater Bros. Charities is pleased to announce the 2013 Award Recipients as part of the 6th Annual Stater Bros. Charities Dave Stockton Heroes Challenge. The Awards were given to individuals who exemplify a caring commitment to the community they live in and were presented at the Stater Bros. Charities Awards Banquet on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at the Mission Inn Hotel & Spa in Riverside, California.
Brigadier General Stan Brown, USAF (retired), received the prestigious Captain Leland F. Norton Award. General Brown served as Base Commander at March Air Force Base and later was appointed Wing Commander there. While at March, he successfully lobbied for the establishment of the Riverside National Cemetery.
The following individuals were the recipients of the 2013 Heroes of the Heartland Awards: Rabbi Hillel Cohn(Rabbi Emeritus Congregation Emanu El in Redlands and Rabbi Sun City Jewish Congregation in Palm Desert); Ronald Loveridge (former Mayor of Riverside); and Russ Blewett (Hesperia Council Member and former Mayor of Hesperia)
