MEMPHIS, TN -
(WMC-TV) - A 25-year-old man was arrested Friday after police saw he was running a tattoo parlor in his living room.
Officers received a complaint about a shop running out of 367 Vance Avenue apartment 104. Officers arrived at the unit and found Darron Brown inside along with what appeared to be a tattoo studio.
Brown identified himself as the tattoo artist who operated the studio inside the apartment.
The police report revealed that Brown was not registered with that state and did not have the proper permits to operate the tattoo parlor. There were a total of 14 critical violations.
Brown had no records of client names or visits. There were also no printed instruction for skin care posted.
Officers then began to seize all equipment as they found it a health hazard to leave the materials in the apartment. As they were seizing the equipment they found a coat which had a bag with 87 Xanax pills in it. They were packaged for street resale.
