(WMC-TV) - The Memphis Tigers will be a six seed and will play a second round game against the winner of a play in game between Middle Tennessee State and St. Mary's. The match-up takes them to Auburn, Hills Michigan.
"I think we'll go up to Michigan and get work done," said Tigers fan Hunter Page.
Many are ready to see who the tigers will play. Now the question comes down to if fans are willing to take the 800-mile trek to Auburn Hills.
"I know Tiger Nation is going to be there. Tiger Nation is at every tournament. They know how to support. It's going be a good environment. Hopefully a lot of fans get out and see us. But at the end of the day it's going to be us as a family," said Tigers player Adonis Thomas.
The 20th ranked Tigers entered Selection Sunday with a 30-4 record overall, 16-0 in Conference USA and an RPI ranking 14th in the nation.
Key wins for Memphis include three victories against Southern Miss and a road win against Tennessee. Hurting their cause were losses at Xavier, and losses against VCU and Minnesota in the Bahamas.
If the Tigers advance to the third round they would face the winner of 3 seeded Michigan State and Valparaiso.
