Fans react to Tigers' loss against Michigan State

Posted: Updated:

(WMC-TV) - The Tigers are out of the "Big Dance" as Michigan State defeated Memphis 70-48, Saturday afternoon.

Memphis' third round loss against Michigan State was not exactly what Tiger fans hoped for at the game. But, many of them were looking on the bright side as they were happy Coach Pastner got his first NCAA win under his belt.

In a crowded Palace arena, Tiger fans did their best to represent Tiger Nation. Fans were hoping for a win, but knew Michigan State was a tough team to play.

"Very disappointed, but we have a great team, great coach, great players, and so we can look forward to a great year next year," said fan Harold Byrd.

But perhaps the most proud fans in the stands is the family of Geron Johnson.

"The fact that we drove up here from Dayton, Ohio watched him score 16 points... Even though they loss we couldn't ask for much better than that.

Happy to have the chance to see Johnson in person, proud of how far he's come," said relative Thomas Rutledge.

The Tigers finish the season with a record of 31-5.

Looking forward, the Tigers bring in the #2 ranked recruiting class in the nation for next season.

Tiger nation will also have new opponents and a new conference next year, so here's to #gotigersgo in 2013-2014.
