(WMC-TV) - The former officer arrested for reportedly making threats toward an elementary school will remain in the Hardeman County Jail.

Trent Wilbanks used to work for the Bolivar Police Department until a domestic violence incident with his wife got him fired.

On Monday, he was arrested for posts he made to his personal Facebook page that were interpreted by police, school officials, and parents as threats.

One of his posts said, "lock and load boys cause I'm coming with a vengeance."

The elementary school went into "safe mode" and parents lined up to collect their children.

School staff assured parents that nobody was in danger, but Wilbanks was arrested and is charged with one felony count of harassment and one misdemeanor count.

He is scheduled to appear in court again on April 24 with a court appointed attorney.
