MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) - A vehicle crashed through the walls of Millington High School Saturday after a police chase.

According to Millington police, driver 27-year-old Marco Dwayne Taylor would not stop for a police officer. When the SUV approached a big curve in the road, Taylor did not make the turn and drove into the high school.

'The suspect drove straight and tried to negotiate this curve... And went straight up into the building," said Millington Police Investigator Charlie Coleman.

After the SUV went inside of the high school's cosmetology classroom in the vocations building, Taylor attempted to flee on foot. Shortly after, officers caught up with the driver, and arrested him.

"He [the SUV] went all the way up into the room, actually hit the teacher's desk," said Coleman.

Officials said they will be boarding the classroom up Saturday night. The classroom will need to be cleaned up, but this accident will not cancel classes.

Police said the Taylor might have been trying to get away, because they found enough marijuana in his vehicle to warrant a felony drug charge.
