MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) - Memphis police are searching for three different vehicles that all may have been responsible for a deadly hit-and-run.

A woman was killed at the intersection of Winchester Road and Cazassa Road just after 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Employees at a nearby store said police showed up to look at their surveillance video, but rainy weather made it difficult to see.

Police say Dinah Springfield was walking across Winchester Road when she was hit by a car, possibly a white Pontiac Bonneville.

Investigators say she was dragged several feet before she was hit again, this time by a white van. A third car, possibly a light-colored Jaguar also hit the woman. All three of them kept on driving.

"To hear something like that in the Whitehaven community, that doesn't happen," said Wendy Thompson, who works nearby. "Not right here at this intersection. That's not heard of for someone to get hit three times and no one stopped."

Paramedics rushed Springfield to The MED where she died.

"To just drive away, I mean, it could've been anyone's loved one, could've been me, could've been anybody. So that's... Preferably someone comes forward and says something," said Yanna Alexander.

The Memphis Police Department's hit-and-run unit is working the case. They are asking anyone who knows anything about the case to call them at (901) 636-4622 or (901) 528-CASH.
